<p class="p1" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;">Staying true to its ethos, Last Resort AB has consistently released clean, simple skate shoe silhouettes designed specifically for skateboarding, free from gimmicks. Over their almost five-year history, they’ve kept branding to a minimum, establishing their identity through sleek, understated designs. Our last review of a Last Resort shoe covered the <span style="color: #0000ff;"><a style="color: #0000ff;" href="https://www.weartested.com/last-resort-ab-cm001/">CM001</a></span>, their first cupsole model, which impressed us with its stability and durability.</span></p>
<p class="p1" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;">Since then, the Last Resort AB team has released a standout team video on Thrasher titled <i><span style="color: #0000ff;"><a style="color: #0000ff;" href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2JfnAJpXb9Q">Doomed From The Jump</a></span>,</i> featuring creative skating from Dane Brady, Frankie Decker, Chris Milic, and Jesse Alba. They also shared a 30-minute vlog-style skate diary on their YouTube channel, capturing their crew’s sessions in Japan and including footage of Kiki Kakitani, who kicked off Polar Skate Co.’s <i>Everything Is Normal</i> video with an unforgettable part.</span></p>
<p class="p1" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;">Fast forward to this week: Last Resort AB just teased their latest silhouette, the CM002, marking a new addition to their cupsole line. This model takes a step away from their typically simple designs, featuring a layered look that hints at a more technical approach. We were lucky enough to test out a pair before its release, so read on for our full review of how the CM002 performs on the board.</span></p>

<h2 class="p3" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;"><b>SIZING</b></span></h2>
<p class="p4" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;">The shoe fits slightly small, so we recommend going a half size up. For reference, we typically wear a US9 in Last Resort AB’s vulcanized models, but for the CM002 model, we opted for a US9.5.</span></p>
<h2 class="p3" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;"><b>DURABILITY</b></span></h2>
<p class="p4" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;">The Last Resort AB CM002 performed well in our 10-hour wear test, proving itself to be a durable shoe. At first glance, the upper—with its multiple material overlays and stitching—may appear to compromise durability. However, its resilience comes from the strategic use of different materials, with the areas in contact with griptape positioned carefully. The combination of stiff leather with a suede panel on top works particularly well to enhance durability. The suede panel, as the first point of contact with griptape, also provides excellent flick. Although some seams ripped, the sturdy materials kept the panels intact, and the mesh showed only minor abrasion. The sole is relatively low and thin in the forefoot, which led to more wear around the kickflip area. </span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><a href="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Side2-scaled.jpg"><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-6496" src="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Side2-1024x503.jpg" alt="Last Resort AB CM002" width="1024" height="503" srcset="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Side2-1024x503.jpg 1024w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Side2-300x147.jpg 300w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Side2-768x378.jpg 768w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Side2-1536x755.jpg 1536w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Side2-2048x1007.jpg 2048w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Side2-50x25.jpg 50w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Side2-100x49.jpg 100w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Side2-165x81.jpg 165w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Side2-200x98.jpg 200w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Side2-400x197.jpg 400w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Side2-500x246.jpg 500w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Side2-600x295.jpg 600w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Side2-700x344.jpg 700w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Side2-800x393.jpg 800w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Side2-900x442.jpg 900w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Side2-1500x737.jpg 1500w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Side2-2000x983.jpg 2000w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></p>
<h2 class="p3" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;"><b>CUSHIONING</b></span></h2>
<p class="p4" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;">Cupsole constructions generally offer better cushioning than vulcanized soles due to their thicker sole and increased stability. The Last Resort AB CM002 combines its cupsole with an insole, known as &#8220;Cloudy Cush,&#8221; providing a comfortable and stable feel that absorbs regular impacts well. This design works harmoniously with the shoe’s stability and padded upper to deliver cohesive cushioning. Overall, the CM002 is recommended for medium-impact skating.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><a href="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Profile-scaled.jpg"><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-6495" src="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Profile-1024x442.jpg" alt="Last Resort AB CM002" width="1024" height="442" srcset="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Profile-1024x442.jpg 1024w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Profile-300x129.jpg 300w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Profile-768x331.jpg 768w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Profile-1536x663.jpg 1536w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Profile-2048x884.jpg 2048w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Profile-50x22.jpg 50w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Profile-100x43.jpg 100w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Profile-165x71.jpg 165w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Profile-200x86.jpg 200w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Profile-400x173.jpg 400w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Profile-500x216.jpg 500w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Profile-600x259.jpg 600w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Profile-700x302.jpg 700w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Profile-800x345.jpg 800w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Profile-900x388.jpg 900w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Profile-1500x647.jpg 1500w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Profile-2000x863.jpg 2000w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></p>
<h2 class="p3" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;"><b>SHAPE</b></span></h2>
<p class="p4" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;">The Last Resort AB CM002 introduces a new shape, adding variety to Last Resort AB’s lineup. With its multi-material, layered upper, it’s a fresh departure from the simplicity of the vulcanized models. The CM002 has padding in the heel and tongue, making it slightly bulkier than previous models, though it still has a close fit. The heel and midfoot run parallel, with the toe area narrowing into a nicely rounded toebox. This shape offers excellent flick and control for flip tricks.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><a href="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Top-scaled.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-6498" src="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Top-1024x344.jpg" alt="Last Resort AB CM002" width="1024" height="344" srcset="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Top-1024x344.jpg 1024w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Top-300x101.jpg 300w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Top-768x258.jpg 768w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Top-1536x515.jpg 1536w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Top-2048x687.jpg 2048w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Top-50x17.jpg 50w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Top-100x34.jpg 100w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Top-165x55.jpg 165w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Top-200x67.jpg 200w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Top-400x134.jpg 400w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Top-500x168.jpg 500w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Top-600x201.jpg 600w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Top-700x235.jpg 700w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Top-800x268.jpg 800w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Top-900x302.jpg 900w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Top-1500x503.jpg 1500w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Top-2000x671.jpg 2000w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></p>
<h2 class="p9" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;"><b>BOARDFEEL<span style="color: #ffffff;">I</span>&amp;<span style="color: #ffffff;">I</span>GRIP</b></span></h2>
<p class="p10" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;">Creating a new sole construction for improved stability and cushioning could compromise boardfeel, but the CM002 maintains a great feel for a cupsole. As shown in the cutaway view, the cupsole combines a skeleton pattern with a foam wedge, making the shoe flexible right out of the box without sacrificing stability or cushioning in the heel. The forefoot is thin, with flex grooves that allow the sole to mold to the griptape for maximum contact. In terms of grip, the shoe performs solidly. The sole held up well in our 10-hour test, offering balanced grip that isn’t overly sticky, which some skaters may prefer. </span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><a href="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Sole-scaled.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-6497" src="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Sole-1024x384.jpg" alt="Last Resort AB CM002" width="1024" height="384" srcset="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Sole-1024x384.jpg 1024w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Sole-300x112.jpg 300w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Sole-768x288.jpg 768w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Sole-1536x575.jpg 1536w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Sole-2048x767.jpg 2048w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Sole-50x19.jpg 50w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Sole-100x37.jpg 100w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Sole-165x62.jpg 165w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Sole-200x75.jpg 200w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Sole-400x150.jpg 400w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Sole-500x187.jpg 500w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Sole-600x225.jpg 600w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Sole-700x262.jpg 700w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Sole-800x300.jpg 800w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Sole-900x337.jpg 900w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Sole-1500x562.jpg 1500w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Sole-2000x749.jpg 2000w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></p>
<h2 class="p12" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;"><b>COMFORT<span style="color: #ffffff;">I</span>&amp;<span style="color: #ffffff;">I</span>STABILITY</b></span></h2>
<p class="p13" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;">The CM002 is slightly lighter than the CM001 due to the use of mesh materials, which also increase breathability. However, the cutaway reveals an inner lining that somewhat limits ventilation. The tongue isn’t fixed with straps, which allows it to move side to side. On the positive side, the inner lining, heel padding, and tongue all contribute to a comfortable fit.</span></p>
<p class="p13" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;">In terms of stability, the shoe performs well. The high-cut heel, reinforced padding, quality leather, and stable cupsole give the CM002 strong support. The heel design and lining help prevent slippage, even when the shoe becomes slightly damp due to limited ventilation.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><a href="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/nFront-scaled.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-6494" src="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/nFront-1024x653.jpg" alt="Last Resort AB CM002" width="1024" height="653" srcset="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/nFront-1024x653.jpg 1024w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/nFront-300x191.jpg 300w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/nFront-768x490.jpg 768w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/nFront-1536x979.jpg 1536w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/nFront-2048x1306.jpg 2048w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/nFront-50x32.jpg 50w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/nFront-100x64.jpg 100w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/nFront-165x105.jpg 165w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/nFront-200x128.jpg 200w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/nFront-400x255.jpg 400w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/nFront-500x319.jpg 500w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/nFront-600x383.jpg 600w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/nFront-700x446.jpg 700w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/nFront-800x510.jpg 800w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/nFront-900x574.jpg 900w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/nFront-1500x956.jpg 1500w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/nFront-2000x1275.jpg 2000w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></p>
<h2 class="p12" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;"><b>SUMMARY</b></span></h2>
<p class="p16" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;">The CM002 is a pleasant addition to Last Resort’s cupsole line, excelling in durability, boardfeel, cushioning, and upper stability. However, there is room for improvement in the shoe’s comfort, specifically breathability, and grip.</span></p>

<p class="p1" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;">It’s fairly evident. As a skater owned company, <span style="color: #0000ff;">Last Resort AB</span> is doing all the right things and creating top-tier products for skateboarders across the world. Not a plug, we just checked out their website and they also have an insane summer sale with classic models for half the price. Anyhow, in all of our previous Last Resort AB weartested reviews, we’ve always put their vulcanized models to the test, and in the past we’ve mentioned that some of the <span style="color: #0000ff;"><a style="color: #0000ff;" href="_wp_link_placeholder" data-wplink-edit="true">VM models</a></span> we’ve tried definitely left us wanting a bit more support and stability that’s often found in cupsole models. This time, we got our hands on a pair of the CM001’s, a snug fitting classic cupsole model designed in true Last Resort AB fashion. It’s an absolute understated look with every detail of the shoe shaped with a specific function in mind, and the recent color ways they’ve been dropping has brought us back to the nostalgic skate shoes from the past. Without further ado, we present you with the CM001 weartested reviews.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;"><a style="color: #000000;" href="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/New-scaled.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-6117" src="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/New-1024x430.jpg" alt="" width="1024" height="430" srcset="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/New-1024x430.jpg 1024w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/New-300x126.jpg 300w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/New-768x323.jpg 768w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/New-1536x645.jpg 1536w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/New-2048x860.jpg 2048w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/New-50x21.jpg 50w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/New-100x42.jpg 100w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/New-165x69.jpg 165w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/New-200x84.jpg 200w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/New-400x168.jpg 400w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/New-500x210.jpg 500w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/New-600x252.jpg 600w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/New-700x294.jpg 700w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/New-800x336.jpg 800w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/New-900x378.jpg 900w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/New-1500x630.jpg 1500w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/New-2000x840.jpg 2000w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></span></p>
<h2 class="p3" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;"><strong><span class="s1">SIZING</span></strong></span></h2>
<p class="p4" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;">The shoe fits slightly smaller so we recommend to go a half size up. As a reference, in the Last Resort AB vulcanized models we had a US9 and for the CM001 model, we chose a US9.5.</span></p>
<h2 class="p3" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;"><strong><span class="s1">DURABILITY</span></strong></span></h2>
<p class="p4" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;">The Last Resort CM001 withstands our 10-hours wear test very well and has proven to be a durable shoe. Let’s look into the details, starting with the material selection of both, leather and suede. It is basically a leather upper with a suede panel in the Ollie- and Kickflip area, which helps immensely for flicks. The thought behind the construction worked. The leather made the shoe stable and durable, whereas the suede worked as the main point of  grip for flicking flip tricks. Although the position of the suede piece is risky, it still withstood the wear and did not show too much abrasion. Another plus was that the seams also didn’t rip. The sole is rather low and thin in the forefoot area, which resulted in more abrasion, especially around the kickflip area. The areas which showed most signs of wear are typical to Last Resort AB wear tests from the past. The seams connecting the main upper piece with the eyelet reinforcement ripped after 4-5 hours of skating. With that said, this was more of a visual issue as opposed to a durability issue.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;"><a style="color: #000000;" href="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/xSide-scaled.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-6123" src="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/xSide-1024x424.jpg" alt="Last Resort AB CM001" width="1024" height="424" srcset="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/xSide-1024x424.jpg 1024w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/xSide-300x124.jpg 300w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/xSide-768x318.jpg 768w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/xSide-1536x636.jpg 1536w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/xSide-2048x848.jpg 2048w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/xSide-50x21.jpg 50w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/xSide-100x41.jpg 100w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/xSide-165x68.jpg 165w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/xSide-200x83.jpg 200w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/xSide-400x166.jpg 400w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/xSide-500x207.jpg 500w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/xSide-600x248.jpg 600w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/xSide-700x290.jpg 700w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/xSide-800x331.jpg 800w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/xSide-900x373.jpg 900w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/xSide-1500x621.jpg 1500w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/xSide-2000x828.jpg 2000w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></span></p>
<h2 class="p3" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;"><strong><span class="s1">CUSHIONING</span></strong></span></h2>
<p class="p6" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;">Cupsole constructions tend to have better cushioning capabilities compared to vulcanized soles. For the Last Resort AB CM001, this is true when comparing it to their VM-series. The cushioning construction is a combination of the the insole, which is called &#8220;Cloudy Cush&#8221; and the actual cupsole. It absorbs regular impact very well and it plays well together with the shoe’s stability and padded upper, to create a cohesive cushioning feeling. Overall, the CM001 is definitely recommended for medium-impact skating.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;"><a style="color: #000000;" href="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Profile-1-scaled.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-6124" src="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Profile-1-1024x400.jpg" alt="" width="1024" height="400" srcset="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Profile-1-1024x400.jpg 1024w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Profile-1-300x117.jpg 300w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Profile-1-768x300.jpg 768w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Profile-1-1536x600.jpg 1536w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Profile-1-2048x799.jpg 2048w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Profile-1-50x20.jpg 50w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Profile-1-100x39.jpg 100w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Profile-1-165x64.jpg 165w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Profile-1-200x78.jpg 200w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Profile-1-400x156.jpg 400w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Profile-1-500x195.jpg 500w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Profile-1-600x234.jpg 600w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Profile-1-700x273.jpg 700w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Profile-1-800x312.jpg 800w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Profile-1-900x351.jpg 900w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Profile-1-1500x586.jpg 1500w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Profile-1-2000x781.jpg 2000w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></span></p>
<h2 class="p3" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;"><strong><span class="s1">SHAPE</span></strong></span></h2>
<p class="p4" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;">The Last Resort AB CM001 is definitely a slim-fitting silhouette. This leads to a shoe that is cut very close to the foot, especially in the heel and forefoot area, while the midfoot area is slightly roomier. The heel and midfoot area run parallel and the shape starts narrowing in the toe area to end in a rather square toebox. The shoe offered a great flick and allows plenty of control while doing flip tricks. The leather and suede materials also helped to hold the rigidity of the shoe throughout the 10-hour test.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;"><a style="color: #000000;" href="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Top-1-scaled.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-6125" src="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Top-1-1024x338.jpg" alt="" width="1024" height="338" srcset="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Top-1-1024x338.jpg 1024w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Top-1-300x99.jpg 300w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Top-1-768x254.jpg 768w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Top-1-1536x508.jpg 1536w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Top-1-2048x677.jpg 2048w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Top-1-50x17.jpg 50w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Top-1-100x33.jpg 100w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Top-1-165x55.jpg 165w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Top-1-200x66.jpg 200w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Top-1-400x132.jpg 400w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Top-1-500x165.jpg 500w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Top-1-600x198.jpg 600w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Top-1-700x231.jpg 700w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Top-1-800x264.jpg 800w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Top-1-900x297.jpg 900w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Top-1-1500x496.jpg 1500w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Top-1-2000x661.jpg 2000w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></span></p>
<h2 class="p7" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;"><strong><span class="s1">BOARDFEEL<span style="color: #ffffff;">I</span>&amp;<span style="color: #ffffff;">I</span>GRIP</span></strong></span></h2>
<p class="p8" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;">Creating a new sole construction to improve stability and cushioning could lead to reducing boardfeel. But, the boardfeel of the CM001 is very good for a cupsole. As shown in the cutted picture, the cupsole has a special combination of a skeleton pattern and a foam wedge. This makes the shoe flexible right out the box without sacrificing stability and cushioning in the heel. The sole and insole are thin in the forefoot and due to its flex grooves, the sole can mold onto the griptape for maximal surface contact. </span></p>
<p class="p8" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;">When it comes to grip, the shoe performs solid. The sole held up extremely well during our 10 hour wear test and the grip feels balanced but is not really sticky, which some skaters prefer. In that regard, positioning your foot comes easier than with some of the very sticky vulcanized models.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;"><a style="color: #000000;" href="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Sole-1-scaled.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-6126" src="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Sole-1-1024x379.jpg" alt="" width="1024" height="379" srcset="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Sole-1-1024x379.jpg 1024w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Sole-1-300x111.jpg 300w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Sole-1-768x284.jpg 768w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Sole-1-1536x569.jpg 1536w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Sole-1-2048x758.jpg 2048w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Sole-1-50x19.jpg 50w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Sole-1-100x37.jpg 100w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Sole-1-165x61.jpg 165w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Sole-1-200x74.jpg 200w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Sole-1-400x148.jpg 400w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Sole-1-500x185.jpg 500w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Sole-1-600x222.jpg 600w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Sole-1-700x259.jpg 700w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Sole-1-800x296.jpg 800w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Sole-1-900x333.jpg 900w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Sole-1-1500x555.jpg 1500w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Sole-1-2000x740.jpg 2000w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></span></p>
<h2 class="p3" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;"><strong><span class="s1">COMFORT<span style="color: #ffffff;">I</span>&amp;<span style="color: #ffffff;">I</span>STABILITY</span></strong></span></h2>
<p class="p4" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;">The CM001 has some flaws when it comes to comfort. Firstly, the shoe is a bit more on the heavy side and despite its great stability function, the leather is not giving much room for ventilation. Also, the tongue is not fixed by straps, which leads to a lot of side to side movement with the tongue. On the positive side of things, the lining, the padding in the heel area and the tongue work well together for a comfortable feeling.</span></p>
<p class="p4" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;">The stability of the shoe is extremely good. The high cut heel area in combination with heel reinforcements, along with the the rigid quality leather and stable cupsole, help the CM001 shine. The heel design also helps to prevent a slippage feeling occur, even when the shoe got became a bit moist with the lack of ventilation. Although the shoe is slim fitting, the midfoot area felt a bit too roomy.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;"><a style="color: #000000;" href="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/xFront-1-scaled.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-6129" src="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/xFront-1-1024x650.jpg" alt="" width="1024" height="650" srcset="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/xFront-1-1024x650.jpg 1024w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/xFront-1-300x191.jpg 300w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/xFront-1-768x488.jpg 768w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/xFront-1-1536x976.jpg 1536w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/xFront-1-2048x1301.jpg 2048w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/xFront-1-50x32.jpg 50w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/xFront-1-100x64.jpg 100w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/xFront-1-165x105.jpg 165w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/xFront-1-200x127.jpg 200w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/xFront-1-400x254.jpg 400w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/xFront-1-500x318.jpg 500w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/xFront-1-600x381.jpg 600w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/xFront-1-700x445.jpg 700w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/xFront-1-800x508.jpg 800w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/xFront-1-900x572.jpg 900w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/xFront-1-1500x953.jpg 1500w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/xFront-1-2000x1270.jpg 2000w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></span></p>
<h2 class="p3" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;"><strong><span class="s1">SUMMARY</span></strong></span></h2>
<p class="p10" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;">Last Resort AB’s first cupsole model has excellent durability, along with great boardfeel and stability. The shoe is well suited for medium impact skating. The model showed flaws on the comfort and grip side. Overall, it’s a fun model to skate and a great offering in terms of price and value.</span></p>

<p class="p1" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;">Ironically, <span style="color: #3366ff;"><a style="color: #3366ff;" href="https://www.lastresortab.com/">Last Resort AB</a></span> started roughly two years ago, in a time when the world was burning down with the Covid pandemic. But since then, the company and visionary team behind the scenes has been carefully detailing and tweaking their staple shoe models for untimely batch releases. Now, Last Resort AB’s tenth drop marks the first time they’ve released a pro model, specifically for their team rider, Chris Milic. If you’re around the same age/generation as us, you may have remembered Chris Milic as “Mango” from the early days of Slap Magazine’s One in a Million reality tv show; a show that garnered in as much praise as it did backlash. One positive thing from the show is that it truly gave no-name skaters a platform to be recognized among the industry, with many of the contestants picked up by some of the biggest shoe/board brands out now. With his unique selection of tricks and laissez-fair approach to skateboarding mixed with technical prowess, Chris Milic was undoubtedly one of the more exciting skaters to watch. And while many skaters from that show faded away, Chris was one of the very few that blossomed into a pro skateboarder with legit sponsors. When Pontus revealed Last Resort AB with “These shoes are made by and for Skateboarders around the world, girls and boys out on the streets having fun, being creative. We don&#8217;t have any corporate backing, no one telling us what to do. And neither should you,” and added Chris to the roster, it was a perfect storm. A <span style="color: #3366ff;"><a style="color: #3366ff;" href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CpvIQtyNPRb/">Chris Milic pro model</a></span> only solidifies Last Resort’s testament to back the original spirit of skateboarding and the commitment to celebrate creativity in skateboarding. We got our hands on a pair and put the shoe to the test, read on below.</span></p>

<h2 class="p3" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;"><strong><span class="s1">SIZING</span></strong></span></h2>
<p class="p4" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;">The shoe fits slightly bigger so we recommend going half a size down.</span></p>
<h2 class="p3" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;"><strong><span class="s1">DURABILITY</span></strong></span></h2>
<p class="p4" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;">The most dominant features of the new Last Resort AB VM004 model are both the T-shape toe cap and the sole’s foxing tape. Both features uphold the clean-cut design of the silhouette, and highlight the shoe’s overall durability. If you take a look at the critical-wear areas, you can see that the shoe performed excellent after ten hours of skating. The seams connecting the main upper piece with the eyelet reinforcement and toe piece did not rip during the wear test. This is a huge benefit because when seams do rip, a shoe tends to lose their shape and structure. The VM004 kept its shape and protected the seams due to the stable vulcanized construction with a high foxing tape. The sole is really protecting the upper from abrasion and is actually the most noticeable area with signs of wear. The eyelets for the laces are also positioned higher up and closer to each other. This minimizes the surface area of contact, which helped protect the laces extremely well. The areas which showed most signs of wear was the top of the eyelet reinforcement where the stitching ripped actually already after the first session. Also, the sole’s profile started to run down in the forefoot area after 10 hours of skating. Nevertheless, the overall durability of the VM004 is good.</span></p>
<p><a href="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Side-1-scaled.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-6049" src="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Side-1-1024x466.jpg" alt="Last Resort AB VM004" width="1024" height="466" srcset="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Side-1-1024x466.jpg 1024w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Side-1-300x136.jpg 300w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Side-1-768x349.jpg 768w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Side-1-1536x698.jpg 1536w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Side-1-2048x931.jpg 2048w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Side-1-50x23.jpg 50w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Side-1-100x45.jpg 100w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Side-1-165x75.jpg 165w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Side-1-200x91.jpg 200w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Side-1-400x182.jpg 400w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Side-1-500x227.jpg 500w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Side-1-600x273.jpg 600w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Side-1-700x318.jpg 700w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Side-1-800x364.jpg 800w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Side-1-900x409.jpg 900w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Side-1-1500x682.jpg 1500w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Side-1-2000x909.jpg 2000w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></p>
<h2 class="p3" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;"><strong><span class="s1">CUSHIONING</span></strong></span></h2>
<p class="p4" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;">The cushioning abilities of the VM004 model have improved, compared to previous Last Resort AB models. The reason is the newly introduced and removable insole called Cloudy Cush. The picture of the shoe’s profile shows that the yellow insole is higher in the heel and lower in the toe area, which offers more cushioning in the critical heel area. The sole itself is still very thin and the foam insole does its job of creating a good step-in feeling while providing decent cushioning abilities. Overall, Last Resort AB stands true to their direction of creating boardfeel orientated shoes by taking advantage of their start-up mentality to listen to consumer feedback and offering relevant improvements with every drop.</span></p>

<h2 class="p3" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;"><strong><span class="s1">SHAPE</span></strong></span></h2>
<p class="p4" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;">Shape is an important element of the VM004. The shoe is slim, tight and functionally designed for high durability (as you can see from the raised eyelets intended for lace protection). The shape also felt like a impactful improvement. Previous models tended to feel a bit loose on the foot when first worn and needed time to wear in, but not the VM004. The shoe felt like it had an improved upper and from the first session, the shoe felt close to the feet and quite stable. An advantage of the T-shape toe cap was to also increase structure and overall stiffness. The heel and midfoot area run parallel and the shape starts narrowing in the toe area to end in a nice pointy toebox. </span></p>

<h2 class="p6" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;"><strong><span class="s1">BOARDFEEL<span style="color: #ffffff;">I</span>&amp;<span style="color: #ffffff;">I</span>GRIP</span></strong></span></h2>
<p class="p4" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;">Creating a new insole to improve cushioning could lead to reducing boardfeel. However, in the case of the VM004, the boardfeel was still excellent. Last Resort AB emphasized a lot on the sole pattern design, with the pattern running rather wide to avoid small stones getting stuck in the sole, which is also complemented by a finer sole pattern in the area where grip is most needed. The sole throughout the whole toebox and frontal area is really thin, which lead to great contact with the board. Grip did not decrease throughout our 10-hour weartest and it performed very well. Boardfeel of the shoe was good; the insole flattens out much more in the first third of the shoe and the midsole itself is fairly thin, which provided for a responsive board feel for the feet.</span></p>
<p><a href="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Sole-1-scaled.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-6050" src="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Sole-1-1024x369.jpg" alt="Last Resort AB VM004" width="1024" height="369" srcset="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Sole-1-1024x369.jpg 1024w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Sole-1-300x108.jpg 300w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Sole-1-768x277.jpg 768w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Sole-1-1536x553.jpg 1536w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Sole-1-2048x738.jpg 2048w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Sole-1-50x18.jpg 50w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Sole-1-100x36.jpg 100w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Sole-1-165x59.jpg 165w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Sole-1-200x72.jpg 200w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Sole-1-400x144.jpg 400w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Sole-1-500x180.jpg 500w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Sole-1-600x216.jpg 600w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Sole-1-700x252.jpg 700w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Sole-1-800x288.jpg 800w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Sole-1-900x324.jpg 900w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Sole-1-1500x540.jpg 1500w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Sole-1-2000x720.jpg 2000w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></p>
<h2 class="p3" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;"><strong><span class="s1">COMFORT<span style="color: #ffffff;">I</span>&amp;<span style="color: #ffffff;">I</span>STABILITY</span></strong></span></h2>
<p class="p4" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;">As a vulcanized model, the VM004 features adequate stability, but still can’t be compared to the stability of a cupsole model. The heel is soft, but the brown leather material chosen for the heel construction grips the ankle really well, preventing a slippage feeling. The inner construction is very simple, with almost no overlaying materials, which helps reduces the risk of pressure points.</span></p>

<h2 class="p3" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;"><strong><span class="s1">SUMMARY</span></strong></span></h2>
<p class="p4" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;">The <span style="color: #3366ff;">Last Resort AB VM004</span> features premium quality materials and stands out with its impressive durability, boardfeel and grip, solidifying its status as one of the top vulcanized skateboard shoes on the market. The previously mentioned flaws of Last Resort AB’s cushioning has definitely improved, however the shoe’s stability is still not meant to jump down big sets of stairs.</span></p>

<p class="p1" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;">A continuation of the evolving product line-up, the <a style="color: #000000;" href="https://www.lastresortab.com/">Last Resort AB</a> VM003 was released earlier this year in January, in a clean and minimal low cut silhouette featured in canvas.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>After trying out and reviewing the first two models that were dropped, our team was excited to get our hands on the newest model to see what additions and hidden perks were designed into the seemingly simple design. Interestingly enough, the model was highlighted by an “All Vegan” tag, which is definitely a step in the right direction as more brands are trying to take measures to ensure sustainable practices in their design, choice of materials and manufacturing. For larger brands, it may be even harder (and more time consuming) to switch factories and change an already existing procedure, just to have a slight change towards sustainable practices. But this does show that for the third model released by Last Resort AB, they were able to get hands on and ensure their product was modified with their best intentions at heart. Since the release of this model, Last Resort AB has been busy, with opening a channel into the US market, adding rider Paul Grund to the team, and also filming a new video that will hopefully drop sometime this year. They’ve also been releasing incredible adverts and beautifully shot trick photos, so we can’t wait to see the final video with creative skating from the likes of Chris Milic, Jesse Alba, and also David Stenström. But until then, read on below to see how the much anticipated Last Resort AB VM003 performed in our wear test!</span></p>

<h2 class="p3" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;"><b>SIZING</b></span></h2>
<p class="p3" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;">The shoe fits lightly bigger so we recommend going half a size down.</span></p>
<h2 class="p3" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;"><b>DURABILITY</b></span></h2>
<p class="p5" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;">Last Resort simplified their previous model VM002 and introduced the VM003, without the toe cap and in canvas. Both features are important in helping increase durability so this section of the review was particularly important to see how the VM003 performed in the 10 hour wear test. In summary, the VM003, for a canvas vulcanized model has pretty solid durability. The areas which showed most signs of wear was the sidewall area and the frontal part of the shoe, where a hole in the canvas appeared. More often than not, skating a canvas shoe usually leads to holes, rips through the sock and leads to bleeding feet. When it came to the VM003, there was an additional material layer under the canvas, which was made out of a durable and soft material that helped increase the lifespan of the shoe. The VM003 also kept its shape and protected the seams of the shoe, thanks to the very stable vulcanized construction and high foxing tape. This feature also helped protect the shoe’s upper from abrasion; the height of the sole and the foxing tape helped to withstand all 10 hours of skating with plenty of life left in it. The eyelets for the laces are also positioned higher up and closer to each other, minimizing the surface area of contact, which helped protect the laces well.</span></p>

<h2 class="p3" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;"><b>CUSHIONING</b></span></h2>
<p class="p6" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;"><span class="s1">When talking about the Last Resort AB shoes, Pontus Alv recently mentioned in an <a style="color: #000000;" href="https://soloskatemag.com/pontus-alv-interview-these-shoes-will-get-you-laid">interview</a> in Solo Skateboard Magazine that “these shoes are not constructed to jump down big gaps&#8221;. At least he’s honest. With that said, the cushioning abilities of the Last Resort AB VM003 model were definitely average. The sole itself is very thin, which decreases its cushioning abilities. The picture of the shoe’s profile shows a glued in insole<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>(all Last Resort models’ insole are glued in) that is higher in the heel and lower in the toe area. This slightly thicker molded PU insole is made out of two foam </span><span class="s2">hardness </span><span class="s1">which creates a nice step-in and walking feeling, but it still can’t keep up with skating big gaps.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><a style="color: #000000;" href="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Profile-scaled.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-5584" src="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Profile-1024x394.jpg" alt="" width="1024" height="394" srcset="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Profile-1024x394.jpg 1024w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Profile-300x115.jpg 300w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Profile-768x295.jpg 768w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Profile-1536x590.jpg 1536w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Profile-2048x787.jpg 2048w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Profile-50x19.jpg 50w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Profile-100x38.jpg 100w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Profile-165x63.jpg 165w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Profile-200x77.jpg 200w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Profile-400x154.jpg 400w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Profile-500x192.jpg 500w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Profile-600x231.jpg 600w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Profile-700x269.jpg 700w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Profile-800x308.jpg 800w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Profile-900x346.jpg 900w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Profile-1500x577.jpg 1500w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Profile-2000x769.jpg 2000w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></span></p>
<h2 class="p8" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;"><b>SHAPE</b></span></h2>
<p class="p9" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;">Shape is an important design element of the VM003. The shoe is very slim, tight and functionally designed to protect the laces. When first worn, the shoe feels extremely flexible. The heel and midfoot area run parallel and the shape starts narrowing in the toe area to end in a nice pointy toebox. One important thing to mention that was specifically noticed on the VM003 is the comparison of the first step in and how the shoe developed after 2-3 sessions: at the beginning the model may feel a bit loose on the foot, but don’ trust that first feeling! Once broken in, the comfort and the shape really adapt to the feet and the shape of the shoe hugs the feet closely.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><a style="color: #000000;" href="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Top-scaled.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-5588" src="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Top-1024x365.jpg" alt="" width="1024" height="365" srcset="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Top-1024x365.jpg 1024w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Top-300x107.jpg 300w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Top-768x274.jpg 768w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Top-1536x548.jpg 1536w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Top-2048x731.jpg 2048w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Top-50x18.jpg 50w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Top-100x36.jpg 100w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Top-165x59.jpg 165w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Top-200x71.jpg 200w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Top-400x143.jpg 400w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Top-500x178.jpg 500w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Top-600x214.jpg 600w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Top-700x250.jpg 700w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Top-800x285.jpg 800w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Top-900x321.jpg 900w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Top-1500x535.jpg 1500w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Top-2000x713.jpg 2000w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></span></p>
<h2 class="p8" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;"><b>BOARDFEEL<span style="color: #ffffff;">I</span>&amp;<span style="color: #ffffff;">I</span>GRIP</b></span></h2>
<p class="p11" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;">Since the shoe features basic cushioning qualities, the boardfeel is excellent. Last Resort AB emphasized a lot on the sole pattern design, with the pattern running rather wide to avoid small stones getting stuck in the sole, which is also complemented by a finer sole pattern in the area where grip is most needed. The sole throughout the whole toebox and frontal area is really thin, which leads to great contact with the board. Grip did not decrease throughout our 10-hour weartest and it performed very well with a lot of life left in them for future sessions. Boardfeel of the shoe was good; the thin insole flattens out much more in the first third of the shoe and the midsole itself is fairly thin, which provided for a responsive board feel for the feet.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><a style="color: #000000;" href="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Sole-scaled.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-5587" src="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Sole-1024x402.jpg" alt="" width="1024" height="402" srcset="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Sole-1024x402.jpg 1024w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Sole-300x118.jpg 300w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Sole-768x301.jpg 768w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Sole-1536x603.jpg 1536w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Sole-2048x804.jpg 2048w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Sole-50x20.jpg 50w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Sole-100x39.jpg 100w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Sole-165x65.jpg 165w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Sole-200x78.jpg 200w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Sole-400x157.jpg 400w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Sole-500x196.jpg 500w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Sole-600x235.jpg 600w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Sole-700x275.jpg 700w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Sole-800x314.jpg 800w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Sole-900x353.jpg 900w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Sole-1500x589.jpg 1500w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Sole-2000x785.jpg 2000w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></span></p>
<h2 class="p3" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;"><b>COMFORT<span style="background-color: #ffffff; color: #ffffff;">I</span>&amp;<span style="color: #ffffff;">I</span>STABILITY</b></span></h2>
<p class="p6" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;">As a canvas model, the VM003 features adequate stability, but still can’t be compared to stability of a vulcanized suede or even a cupsole model. Since the shoe is slim and has a rather low cut, it fits to your foot very well after two to three sessions. The shoe does not have many elements of support, so it is quite soft but feels also broken in from the beginning. The heel is quite soft, but the material choice for the heel construction grips the ankle, preventing the feeling of slippage when skating and walking. The inner construction is very simple, almost no overlaying materials which helps reduces the risk of pressure points.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><a style="color: #000000;" href="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/sfront1-scaled.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-5585" src="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/sfront1-1024x621.jpg" alt="" width="1024" height="621" srcset="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/sfront1-1024x621.jpg 1024w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/sfront1-300x182.jpg 300w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/sfront1-768x465.jpg 768w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/sfront1-1536x931.jpg 1536w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/sfront1-2048x1241.jpg 2048w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/sfront1-50x30.jpg 50w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/sfront1-100x61.jpg 100w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/sfront1-165x100.jpg 165w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/sfront1-200x121.jpg 200w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/sfront1-400x242.jpg 400w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/sfront1-500x303.jpg 500w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/sfront1-600x364.jpg 600w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/sfront1-700x424.jpg 700w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/sfront1-800x485.jpg 800w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/sfront1-900x545.jpg 900w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/sfront1-1500x909.jpg 1500w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/sfront1-2000x1212.jpg 2000w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></span></p>
<h2 class="p8" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;"><b>SUMMARY</b></span></h2>
<p class="p8" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;">The Last Resort AB VM003 is the most simple silhouette offered from their three models. With that, the shoe features incredible boardfeel and grip, as well as solid durability, for a vulcanized canvas model. The only flaw noticed were the shoe’s cushioning features and the stability. Overall, the VM003 is designed for the skaters who like the close feel of their board and a well balanced grip!</span></p>

<p class="p1" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1"><span style="color: #000000;">Earlier in March, we dropped our first Last Resort AB review with a feature on the</span> <span style="color: #0000ff;"><a style="color: #0000ff;" href="https://www.weartested.com/last-resort-ab-vm001-hi/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">VM001 High</a></span>. <span style="color: #000000;">Since then, Last Resort AB has been focused on product superiority, and released the all new</span> <span style="color: #0000ff;"><a style="color: #0000ff;" href="https://www.lastresortab.com/collections/vm002" target="_blank" rel="noopener">VM002</a></span> <span style="color: #000000;">silhouette and the VM001 in Suede/Canvas and High or Lo models. There’s something to be said, when a company is focused more on curating a genuine product for skateboarding, rather than numbing the audience with continuous half-assed promo materials every week just to hit sales KPI’s. The Last Resort AB team has been getting bigger too; they’ve added style king Aaron Loreth, Frog Skateboard’s Jesse Alba and Billy Trick, and also pulled long time friend David Stenstrom from the Converse Cons team over to Last Resort AB. In only a few months time the roster and the product line are naturally developing to take on a new space in the skate world, a<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>space that’s open for innovation and holds onto a sacred part of skateboarding where art meets sport. We were lucky to get our hands on a pair of the VM002, and put this new silhouette to the test. Read on below to see how it performed during our 10 hour wear test!</span></span></p>

<h2 class="p1" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;"><b>Sizing</b></span></h2>
<p class="p1" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;">The shoe fits lightly bigger so we recommend to go half a size down.</span></p>
<h2 class="p1" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;"><b>Durability</b></span></h2>
<p class="p4" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;">The most dominant features of the new Last Resort AB VM002 model are both the toe cap and the sole’s foxing tape. Both features uphold the clean-cut design of the silhouette, and highlight the shoe’s overall durability. If you take a look at the in the critical-wear areas of the shoe, you can see that the shoe performed excellent after ten hours of skating. The seams connecting the main upper piece with the suede eyelet reinforcement and the seams connecting to the toe piece did not rip during the weartest, which helped prolong the lifespan of the shoe. This is a huge benefit because when seams do rip, the shoes tend to lose their shape and structure. The VM002 also kept its shape and protected the seams due to the very stable vulcanized construction with a high foxing tape. The sole is protecting the upper from abrasion and is actually the most noticeable area with signs of wear. Nevertheless, the height of the sole and the foxing tape helped to withstand all ten hours of skating and the shoe would had plenty of life left in it. The eyelets for the laces are also positioned higher up and closer to each other, minimizing the surface area of contact, which helped protect the laces extremely well. The areas which showed most signs of wear was the sidewall area, where a hole in the suede appeared, and the suede heel collar got some wear. Nevertheless, the overall durability of the VM002 is very good.</span></p>

<h2 class="p1" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;"><b>Cushioning</b></span></h2>
<p class="p6" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;">The cushioning abilities of the Last Resort AB VM002 model are average. The sole itself is very thin, which decreases its cushioning abilities. The picture of the shoe’s profile shows an insole that is higher in the heel and lower in the toe area. This slightly thicker molded PU insole is made out of two foam hardnesses which creates a nice step-in and walking feeling, however, it cannot keep up with skating big gaps.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><a style="color: #000000;" href="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Profile-scaled.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-5266" src="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Profile-1024x376.jpg" alt="Last Resort AB VM002" width="1024" height="376" srcset="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Profile-1024x376.jpg 1024w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Profile-300x110.jpg 300w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Profile-768x282.jpg 768w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Profile-1536x564.jpg 1536w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Profile-2048x752.jpg 2048w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Profile-50x18.jpg 50w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Profile-100x37.jpg 100w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Profile-165x61.jpg 165w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Profile-200x73.jpg 200w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Profile-400x147.jpg 400w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Profile-500x184.jpg 500w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Profile-600x220.jpg 600w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Profile-700x257.jpg 700w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Profile-800x294.jpg 800w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Profile-900x330.jpg 900w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Profile-1500x551.jpg 1500w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Profile-2000x734.jpg 2000w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></span></p>
<h2 class="p8" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;"><b>Shape</b></span></h2>
<p class="p9" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;">Shape is an important design element of the VM002. The shoe is very slim, tight and functionally designed to increase durability and protect the laces. When first worn, the shoe feels flexible right away, and after 2-3 sessions, the construction breaks in more softly and adapts really well to the foot, especially due to the tight lacing. The most impressive characteristic of the shoe was that it kept its shape the whole time due to the high quality material choices. No soggy sidewalls and no rippled suede toe pieces came up. The heel and midfoot area run parallel and the shape starts narrowing in the toe area to end in a nice pointy toebox.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><a style="color: #000000;" href="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Top-scaled.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-5269" src="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Top-1024x369.jpg" alt="Last Resort AB VM002" width="1024" height="369" srcset="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Top-1024x369.jpg 1024w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Top-300x108.jpg 300w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Top-768x277.jpg 768w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Top-1536x554.jpg 1536w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Top-2048x738.jpg 2048w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Top-50x18.jpg 50w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Top-100x36.jpg 100w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Top-165x59.jpg 165w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Top-200x72.jpg 200w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Top-400x144.jpg 400w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Top-500x180.jpg 500w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Top-600x216.jpg 600w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Top-700x252.jpg 700w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Top-800x288.jpg 800w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Top-900x324.jpg 900w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Top-1500x541.jpg 1500w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Top-2000x721.jpg 2000w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></span></p>
<h2 class="p8" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;"><b>Board Feel<span style="color: #ffffff;">I</span>&amp;<span style="color: #ffffff;">I</span>Grip</b></span></h2>
<p class="p11" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;">Since the shoe features basic cushioning qualities, the boardfeel is excellent. Last Resort AB emphasized a lot on the sole pattern design, with the pattern is running rather wide to avoid small stones getting stuck in the sole, but also featuring a finer sole pattern in the area where grip is most needed. The sole throughout the whole toebox and frontal area is really thin, which lead to great contact with the board. Grip did not decrease throughout our ten hour weartest and it performed very well with a lot of life left in them for future sessions. Boardfeel of the shoe was good; the thin insole flattens out much more in the first third of the shoe and the midsole itself is fairly thin, which provided for a responsive board feel for the feet.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><a style="color: #000000;" href="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Sole-scaled.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-5268" src="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Sole-1024x406.jpg" alt="Last Resort AB VM002" width="1024" height="406" srcset="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Sole-1024x406.jpg 1024w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Sole-300x119.jpg 300w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Sole-768x305.jpg 768w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Sole-1536x609.jpg 1536w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Sole-2048x813.jpg 2048w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Sole-50x20.jpg 50w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Sole-100x40.jpg 100w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Sole-165x65.jpg 165w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Sole-200x79.jpg 200w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Sole-400x159.jpg 400w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Sole-500x198.jpg 500w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Sole-600x238.jpg 600w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Sole-700x278.jpg 700w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Sole-800x317.jpg 800w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Sole-900x357.jpg 900w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Sole-1500x595.jpg 1500w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Sole-2000x794.jpg 2000w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></span></p>
<h2 class="p8" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;"><b>Comfort<span style="color: #ffffff;">I</span>&amp;<span style="color: #ffffff;">I</span>Stability</b></span></h2>
<p class="p6" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;">The VM002 has a solid stability. Since the shoe is slim and high cut, it fits to your foot very well. The shoe doesn’t have too many elements of support, but due to its slim shape and the strength of the materials, it hugs the foot closely and leaves a very secure feeling. Although the shoe becomes softer over time, it does maintain its structural strength throughout the whole time skating as it was designed with a stable construction in mind. The heel is rather soft, but the material choice for the heel construction grips the ankle, preventing the feeling of slippage when skating and walking.</span></p>

<h2 class="p8" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;"><b>Summary</b></span></h2>
<p class="p8" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;">The Last Resort AB VM002 features premium quality materials and stands out with its impressive durability, boardfeel and grip, solidifying its status as one of the top vulcanized skateboard shoes on the market. The only flaw noticed were the shoe’s cushioning features, but then again, who’s really out there skating El Toro every session?</span></p>

<p class="p1" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1"><span style="color: #000000;">It’s a bold move to start a brand new skate shoe company in this current marketplace. Finding the right designers, material sourcing, distribution and figuring out the “marketing” needed to stick out among the corporate giants almost seems a challenge not worth tackling. Countless smaller skater owned brands have tried over the years, with a large amount of them fading out, and the skater owned OG shoe brands that we’ve grown up wearing are still fighting for their market share in this shoe war. But then there’s Pontus Alv, the brainchild behind</span> <span style="color: #0000ff;"><a style="color: #0000ff;" href="https://polarskateco.com/">Polar Skate Co</a></span>, <span style="color: #000000;">who has somehow effortlessly packaged the art of raw skating into a clean aesthetic that has gripped skaters around the world, and even leaked into the premium streetwear channels. Now,</span> <span style="color: #0000ff;"><a style="color: #0000ff;" href="https://www.lastresortab.com/">Last Resort AB</a></span> <span style="color: #000000;">is the newest offering from Pontus and his long-time friend, skateboarder and creative director </span></span><span class="s2" style="color: #000000;">Sami Tolppi; a new footwear brand with the vision of creating incredible skate shoes with an “intention to detail” for skateboarders around the world. The Last Resort AB team is small, but undeniably impactful; the roster includes Polar Skate Co.’s Nick Rios, Frog Skateboard’s Chris Milic (“Mango” from the Slap One In A Million Days) and finally, Ludwig Hakansson, a “renaissance” man who’s a bricklayer by profession, but also skater, painter, loafer &amp; blazer enthusiast. Last Resort AB is a testament to the true defiant nature of skateboarding; in a time where Core vs. Corporate seems to be a topic that will fade out to the latter; Pontus and his team have stepped up to present their take on a last resort. Let’s take a look into how the Last Resort AB’s VM001 Hi silhouette performed in our wear test.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;"><a style="color: #000000;" href="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Neu.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-5144" src="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Neu-1024x622.jpg" alt="Last Resort AB" width="1024" height="622" srcset="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Neu-1024x622.jpg 1024w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Neu-300x182.jpg 300w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Neu-768x466.jpg 768w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Neu-1536x933.jpg 1536w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Neu-2048x1243.jpg 2048w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Neu-50x30.jpg 50w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Neu-100x61.jpg 100w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Neu-165x100.jpg 165w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Neu-200x121.jpg 200w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Neu-400x243.jpg 400w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Neu-500x304.jpg 500w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Neu-600x364.jpg 600w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Neu-700x425.jpg 700w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Neu-800x486.jpg 800w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Neu-900x546.jpg 900w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Neu-1500x911.jpg 1500w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Neu-2000x1214.jpg 2000w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></span></p>
<h2 class="p1" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;"><b>Sizing</b></span></h2>
<p class="p1" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;">The shoe fits lightly bigger so we recommend to go half a size down.</span></p>
<h2 class="p1" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;"><b>Durability</b></span></h2>
<p class="p1" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;">The clean-cut design of the VM001 Hi silhouette is the true highlight of the shoe’s overall durability, but don’t mistake simplicity as a weakness. Last Resort AB has added a bunch of details and features to further improve the shoe’s performance and lifespan. The most notable feature of the shoe is the one piece upper made out of a high quality and very thick suede which did not show any signs of wear after our 10 hour test, except for typical lights spots on black suede where the griptape contact is the strongest. The seam connecting the upper with the suede eyelet reinforcement element ripped, but since the suede was thicker than usual, both elements stayed in shape. The VM001 Hi features a very stable vulcanized construction.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>The sole is protecting the upper from abrasion and is actually the most noticeable area with signs of<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>wear. Nevertheless, the height of the sole and the foxing tape helped to withstand all 10 hours of skating and the shoe would had plenty of life left in it. The eyelets for the laces are also positioned higher up and closer to each other, minimizing the surface area of contact, which helped protect the laces extremely well. Overall the durability of the VM001 Hi is very good.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;"><a style="color: #000000;" href="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Side-scaled.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-5152" src="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Side-1024x606.jpg" alt="last resort ab" width="1024" height="606" srcset="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Side-1024x606.jpg 1024w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Side-300x178.jpg 300w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Side-768x455.jpg 768w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Side-1536x910.jpg 1536w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Side-2048x1213.jpg 2048w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Side-50x30.jpg 50w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Side-100x59.jpg 100w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Side-165x98.jpg 165w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Side-200x118.jpg 200w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Side-400x237.jpg 400w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Side-500x296.jpg 500w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Side-600x355.jpg 600w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Side-700x415.jpg 700w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Side-800x474.jpg 800w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Side-900x533.jpg 900w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Side-1500x888.jpg 1500w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Side-2000x1184.jpg 2000w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></span></p>
<h2 class="p1" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;"><b>Cushioning</b></span></h2>
<p class="p1" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;">The cushioning abilities of the Last Resort AB VM001 model are average. The sole itself is very thin, which decreases its cushioning abilities. The picture of the shoe’s profile shows an insole that is higher in the heel and lower in the toe area. This slightly thicker molded PU insole is made out of two foam hardnesses which creates a nice step-in feeling, but even so, those habitual 10 stair skaters will still be left without much protection.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;"><a style="color: #000000;" href="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Profile-scaled.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-5151" src="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Profile-1024x542.jpg" alt="last resort ab" width="1024" height="542" srcset="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Profile-1024x542.jpg 1024w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Profile-300x159.jpg 300w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Profile-768x406.jpg 768w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Profile-1536x812.jpg 1536w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Profile-2048x1083.jpg 2048w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Profile-50x26.jpg 50w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Profile-100x53.jpg 100w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Profile-165x87.jpg 165w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Profile-200x106.jpg 200w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Profile-400x212.jpg 400w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Profile-500x264.jpg 500w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Profile-600x317.jpg 600w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Profile-700x370.jpg 700w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Profile-800x423.jpg 800w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Profile-900x476.jpg 900w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Profile-1500x793.jpg 1500w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Profile-2000x1058.jpg 2000w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></span></p>
<h2 class="p6" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;"><b>Shape</b></span></h2>
<p class="p1" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;">Shape is an important design element for the VM001. The shoe is very slim, tight and functionally designed to increase durability and protect the laces. When first worn, the shoe feels quite flexible, and after 2-3 sessions, the construction breaks in more softly and adapts really well to the foot. The most impressive characteristic of the shoe was that it kept its shape the whole time due to the high quality material choices. The heel and midfoot area run parallel and the shape starts narrowing in the toe area to end in a nice pointy toebox.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;"><a style="color: #000000;" href="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/IMG_5611-scaled.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-5160" src="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/IMG_5611-1024x355.jpg" alt="" width="1024" height="355" srcset="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/IMG_5611-1024x355.jpg 1024w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/IMG_5611-300x104.jpg 300w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/IMG_5611-768x267.jpg 768w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/IMG_5611-1536x533.jpg 1536w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/IMG_5611-2048x711.jpg 2048w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/IMG_5611-50x17.jpg 50w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/IMG_5611-100x35.jpg 100w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/IMG_5611-165x57.jpg 165w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/IMG_5611-200x69.jpg 200w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/IMG_5611-400x139.jpg 400w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/IMG_5611-500x174.jpg 500w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/IMG_5611-600x208.jpg 600w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/IMG_5611-700x243.jpg 700w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/IMG_5611-800x278.jpg 800w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/IMG_5611-900x312.jpg 900w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/IMG_5611-1500x521.jpg 1500w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/IMG_5611-2000x694.jpg 2000w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></span></p>
<h2 class="p6" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;"><b>Board Feel<span style="color: #ffffff;">I</span>&amp;<span style="color: #ffffff;">I</span>Grip</b></span></h2>
<p class="p1" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;">Since the shoe features basic cushioning qualities, the boardfeel is excellent. Last Resort AB emphasized a lot on the sole pattern design, with the pattern is running rather wide to avoid small stones getting stuck in the sole, but also featuring a finer sole pattern in the area where grip is most needed. The sole throughout the whole toebox and frontal area is really thin, which leads to great contact with the board. Grip did not decrease throughout our 10-hr test and performed very well with a lot of life left in them for future sessions. Boardfeel of the shoe was good; the thin insole flattens out much more in the first third of the shoe and the midsole itself is fairly thin, which provided for a responsive board feel for the feet.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;"><a style="color: #000000;" href="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Sole-scaled.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-5153" src="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Sole-1024x379.jpg" alt="last resort ab" width="1024" height="379" srcset="https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Sole-1024x379.jpg 1024w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Sole-300x111.jpg 300w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Sole-768x284.jpg 768w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Sole-1536x568.jpg 1536w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Sole-2048x758.jpg 2048w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Sole-50x18.jpg 50w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Sole-100x37.jpg 100w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Sole-165x61.jpg 165w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Sole-200x74.jpg 200w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Sole-400x148.jpg 400w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Sole-500x185.jpg 500w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Sole-600x222.jpg 600w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Sole-700x259.jpg 700w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Sole-800x296.jpg 800w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Sole-900x333.jpg 900w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Sole-1500x555.jpg 1500w, https://www.weartested.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Sole-2000x740.jpg 2000w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></span></p>
<h2 class="p6" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;"><b>Comfort<span style="color: #ffffff;">I</span>&amp;</b></span><span style="color: #ffffff;"><b></b><span class="s1"><b>I</b></span><b></b></span><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;"><b>Stability</b></span></h2>
<p class="p1" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;">The VM001 Hi satisfies when it comes to stability. Since the shoe is slim and high cut, it fits to your foot very well. The shoe doesn’t have too many elements of support, but because it is slim fit and the strength of the materials, it hugs the foot closely and leaves a very secure feeling. Although the shoe becomes softer over time, it does maintain its structural strength throughout the whole time skating as it was designed with a stable construction in mind. The heel is rather soft, but the material choice for the heel construction grips the ankle, preventing a slippage feeling.</span></p>
